The City of Salisbury, NC

The Salisbury Fire Department has a Ride-Along Program. You may ride with the Shift Commander in his command car or you may be assigned to ride on any of  the 6 on-duty fire companies or to a staff officer.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years old, can be 16 years old  with parent's consent.
• must sign a Liability Waiver.
• May ride between 0800 and up to 2200.
• Limited to 26 hours per month.
• Must schedule and make arrangements 1 shift (72 hours) prior to date of desired ride-along.
• The rider will be a passive observer and must obey any orders given by the Supervisor they are assigned to.
• The rider will not interfere with  Salisbury Fire Department personnel in the performance of their duties.
• The rider will not handle any SFD equipment unless specifically authorized by SFD personnel.
