Meter Services Supervisor
Job Duties
1.
Supervise
activities of Meter Reading and Meter Maintenance Sections.
2.
Plan,
prioritize, assign, and inspect meter readings, connect and disconnect orders,
meter change-out, and meter testing.
3.
Administer
the backflow prevention program.
4.
Answer
questions and provide information to the public; and investigate complaints and
take corrective action as necessary.
5.
Participate
in budget preparation including cost estimates, expenditure justification, and
budget control.
6.
Assist
with the development, implementation, and review division goals and objectives.
7.
Organize
and facilitate Involvement and Response Team meetings for assigned employees.
8.
Ensure
compliance with safety policies and procedures
9.
Respond
to job call back after working hours and/or on weekends and holidays.
10.
Other
duties as requested or required.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
require the completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent GED; possession of
Grade A Water Meter Technician Certificate and Cross Connection Control
Certificate, or three years of equivalent experience; and possession of, or
ability to obtain, a valid North Carolina Class A CDL.
Desired qualifications
include at least one year of supervisory experience.
Physical Qualifications
Physically able to walk
meter routes, enter meter vaults, and perform moderately strenuous manual labor
with hand tools.
